Instructor

Pat Davidson, PhD

Pat Davidson grew up on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. He lived in Hyannis until he was 12, and in Harwich until college and slightly beyond. Pat has always had a love for sports, from the time he was a young kid where he threw the ball around with his grandfather, Arthur Davidson in the back yard until the present where he competes in the sport of strongman. This love for sports and training has led Pat to all of the great experiences in competition and education that he has been very fortunate to receive. In 2003, Pat completed a B.A. in history from Bridgewater State College, and in 2006, he finished an M.S. in Strength and Conditioning from the same school. In 2009, Pat completed a Ph.D in Exercise Physiology from Springfield College. Pat’s first faculty position was at Brooklyn College where he worked for 2 years. Brooklyn College was a tremendous experience for Pat, and working with the Exercise Science students to create the weight room that we affectionately called, The Pit was the place where everybody came together and learned by doing. After the Brooklyn College experience, Pat went to Springfield College as a faculty member for three years. Pat joined forces with an army of Renaissance meat head students to create, Team Ironsports. Ironsports became the most dominant force in amateur Strongman in the United States within two years. Like the old saying goes, it seems that you can’t go home again. Pat is now running deltaforcetraining.com where people can sign up for training, Skype consultations, and in services at their fitness businesses. Articles, webinars, and a user forum are also available on this website. Philosophically Pat believes in an integrated approach. The human body is a psychosocial physiological organism housed on Earth and surviving and thriving through an integrated sensory and motor experience. Everything is important, and the keys to success are found in attention, caring, and appreciation. Each moment is an opportunity to learn, grow, express yourself, and enjoy being alive.
